Today in the Sporting World

The aftermath of last night will keep everyone wondering what's going to happen next. Two teams in their own respective playoff series made it a must see event for the next game, with both of them playing in a must win situation. The Orlando Magic stave off from falling into an unclimbable hole to make it a series against the Los Angeles Lakers by winning their game last night 108-104. I must say that it was an impressive game from all points of view. Kobe being white-hot from the field to start the game with a torrid 17 points in the 1st quarter. The Magic, led by Rafer Alston and the "LIVE OR DIE" shooting of their perimeter players played a key role in keeping pace with the Lakers by shooting over 70% from the field in the first half, finally gaining a lead in the 2nd quarter. Dwight Howard was finally making an impact in the post as well as his passing, while not being questioned about making the right decisions with the ball. It was just the fact that in the two games before, the Magic wasn't making shots like they were in L.A. I guess this always happens when a team has the crowd behind them in this senario. I hope that they can keep this up, because one slip up and their title hopes will be slashed by the Lakers if they can steal one in the friendly confinds of Orlando.

In the NHL world, the Pittsburgh Penguins keep their title hopes alive with a stellar performance by defeating the Detroit Red Wings to force a Game 7 with it all on the line. Great defensive play by their goaltender Fleury and by their whole defence with multiple scoring opportunities for the Wings. Even Malkin and Crosby were made into bystandards as they could only watch the other lines make it a series for the hockey world. Now we'll see all the punches and emotions let out as both teams battle for the title. A MUST SEE EVENT.

Last but not least, the MLB. The Yankees and the Red Sox is always a competitive series. But game one in Fenway was great for Boston, but not for New York. Once Florida's star pitchers, Josh Beckett showed that he was the far superior of the two as he nets the win for his club for his seventh win. Only allowing one hit thru six innings has proved why he is the ace of that staff. It should be very interesting to see David Ortiz as he continues to fight out of his slump with a HR yesterday, going 1-4. Tonight will only tell.

Stay tuned.
